“The best experience ever! We began with a broken Baldwin key in our big front door, which has a matching door that is designed to open when the top and bottom brass posts are slid out of the holes in the brass fixtures. We thought we would have a locksmith fish out the broken piece of the key and that would be our only service goal.
This is what we had accomplished: 1) the broken key piece was fished out; 2) all of our keys did not work correctly, we had to be very careful in finding just the right position for the key in the lock for it to work, which in a distracted moment led to me breaking a key in the lock. All our keys have been retooled in the Down's technician's service van and all now work perfectly; 3) the keyed door tongue fittings have been trimmed so that the door now locks on the non-keyed inside as easily in winter as it does in summer; 4) the non-keyed door with sliding posts has been fixed so that the door not only can be opened, but also it can be opened easily. We have not been able to open the door at all for many years. All of this took an amazingly short amount of time and the total cost was a very pleasant surprise”
