Rekeying of Locks
Just purchased a home? Any idea where every key ever made to your home is? These are two great reasons to consider rekeying the locks on your home. There is a misconception that when you purchase a home and the realtor gives you keys, these are your keys.
In most cases, this could not be further from the truth. Odds are those keys they just gave you belonged to the last homeowner, and who knows who they issued keys to—the nanny, maid, painter, dog walker? Rekeying is an inexpensive service we provide. Consider it cheap insurance. We guarantee the things in your home are worth MUCH more than what the service will cost.

Lock Installation/Replacement
We have the ability to professionally install, as replacement or new, all types of commercial locks. In addition to a professional installation, we will also insure the lock proposed for installation meets all building egress and fire codes, as well as being ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. We offer brands such as Arrow, Schlage, Sargent, Best, Corbin Russwin, and Yale, along with many others.
High Security Locks/Keys
UL437 Listed, patent-protected locks and keys protect you against picking, drilling, bumping, and unauthorized key duplication. We are authorized dealers for Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, and Schlage Primus XP High Security locks. In most cases, these can be installed in your existing commercial hardware to increase the security of your facility.
Restricted Key Control (protecting your keys from duplication)
Did you know by taking a standard key and stamping “Do Not Duplicate” or “Duplication Prohibited” on it holds no legal ramification? The only way to truly protect your keys from unauthorized key duplication is to incorporate patented key control lock cylinders and keys into your facility.
If the time has come to rekey your facility, we recommend looking into the patented key control product we offer. With proper key control, installing patented key control products can greatly increase the longevity and security of your key system.
Key System Management
In order for your key system to have longevity, it is critical a strict key system procedures policy be put in place and followed. Mortise Locks (common in commercial buildings)
Do you maintain a commercial high rise? If so, chances are your building is full of mortise locks. At Downs Security Solutions, we understand the importance of maintaining building standards and budgets; mortise locks can be a challenge with both.
We service, repair, replace, and install mortise locks of all makes and models mechanical and electrified including, but not limited to, Schlage, Corbin, Sargent, Arrow, Yale, Hager, Inox, Marks, Baldwin, ACSI, and Accurate. We can even take a nonlocking passage mortise set, order a few parts, and convert it to a locking mortise set, reutilizing the existing handles and saving you hundreds of dollars!
Panic/Exit Hardware (called by many names, crash bars, panic bars, exit devices)
We furnish, service, repair, and install all makes and models of Panic and Fire Exit Devices. This is a category of door hardware that can be a little confusing due to the fact a Panic Device and Fire Exit Device are two totally different items and must be installed accordingly.
A Panic Device is intended for use on Nonfire Labeled doors and must not be installed on labeled fire doors, as it will not meet fire codes. On the other hand, a Fire Exit Device is exactly that and is intended to be installed on labeled fire doors to meet the code requirements. It is of the utmost importance the correct device is installed to keep your building in code compliance. Popular brands include Von Duprin, Arrow, Cal-Royal, Sargent, Corbin Russwin, Jackson, Dor-o-matic, Dorma, Hager, and Yale.
Door Closers (the name says it all, they close the door behind you)
These units come in a wide variety of makes, models, and finishes and are found surface mounted to the door, concealed in the door frame header, and even concealed in the floor. We offer sales, service, adjustment, and installation of virtually every door closer on the market. We offer Norton, LCN, Arrow, Corbin Russwin, Yale, Sargent, Jackson, Kawneer, Rixson, and Dorma door closers.

Commercial Hollow Metal Doors
Commercial hollow metal doors are probably the most common type of door we deal with. These doors, regardless of the manufacturer, are usually repairable unless heavy damage or rusted through has occurred. Should a replacement be deemed necessary, most replacement doors are readily available within a matter of days. Should a replacement be required, we would provide a door machined to match your existing frame size and hinge locations.
Commercial Wood Doors
Commercial wood doors can also be serviced, repaired, or replaced by Downs Security Solutions. Should a replacement be deemed necessary, we can provide a door with hinge locations machined to match your existing frame. Furthermore we will do our best to provide a door of similar wood type and grain.
